For hundreds of years, upholstery has been a way to provide style, beauty and function to a home and also showcase wealth and social standing. Upscale homes around the world have been draped in rich luxurious fabrics covering the windows, the furniture and often the walls. While styles may have changed the allure of upholstery has not. The finishing touch of a home is its furniture and window coverings.

At Master Craftsman Decorators we have been creating high quality upholstered furniture and window treatments since 1978. We have earned an excellent reputation and forged lasting working relationships with some of New York City's best and most well-known designers and architects. This was achieved through years of dedicated work helping our clients come up with the best possible design solutions for a specific setting, uncompromising attention to detail and a commitment to keeping with the traditions of our trade.

Our craftsmen pride themselves on being part of a select group of tradesmen that still adhere to the centuries old techniques employed in our workroom every day. Of course, the industry has changed over the years, and today's clients demand a wider range of services and techniques, to fit a variety of styles and budgets. Whether a home's style is traditional, modern or anything in between we will create any piece of furniture, any drapery, and any bedding treatment to complete a room and make it unique.

In addition to adorning many of the City's and the country's upscale homes, our work can be seen in some of the City's most well-known venues. This list includes Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Morgan Library, The Algonquin Hotel, The River Club, The Princeton Club, The Harmonie Club, The Grove Event Center (Cedar Grove, NJ) and more. The lifelong working relationships we have created with many of our designers speak to the superb craftsmanship of our work and to the personal attention afforded to each client and each specific project. A designer's talent and eye for style paired with our technical knowledge and experience give birth to the unique and beautiful finished rooms that we are known for. In many cases even after a designer has retired their clients have insisted upon their new designer using our workroom for their home, which in turn often creates a new business relationship that lasts for years to come.
